History

Youthcentrik began in 2012 as a radical act of hope.

We were just a small group of concerned individuals—mentors, parents, and former advocates—who saw our community’s struggles firsthand: young people craving belonging, potential leaders with no guidance, and too many bright futures derailed by preventable challenges. Behind it all, we witnessed the silent crisis of youth mental health, with nowhere to turn for support.

So we started showing up. With no funding, just determination, we created safe spaces in living rooms, schools and community centers. The first youth who walked through our doors didn’t just find support—they became co-creators of this movement.

Today, our greatest pride? Those same young people—once participants in our programs—now lead Youthcentrik as staff, board members, and mentors. They’ve lived our mission, and now they’re ensuring the next generation has even greater opportunities.

In 2023, we formalized as a nonprofit to expand this legacy. Every workshop, every advocacy campaign, and every life changed still carries the DNA of our beginnings: by youth, for youth.

This is more than an organization. It’s a generational promise.
